Heidfeld voted GPDA chairman

Post

Heidfeld is the new chairman of the GPDA, source here. I think it is an excellent choice. With the selection of Heidfeld perhaps they can also sort out the dumb dispute about the Schumacher registration fee. The old directorship must be a bit demented to ask one of their re founding members who contributed the bulk of the GPDA revenues in the last decade to pay a second set of entry fees. This dispute is even more ridiculous when one considers the WMSC decision to appointed him as the Drivers’ Representative for the Circuits Commission.
Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best .............................. organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)

Oh well that's nice - at least he's got something to keep him occupied this season

Is that their way of saying "we want Nick in a race seat again"

...he really got the short end of the stick in the driver shuffle this year.

No, it's that it appears to now be a policy that the GPDA chairman is a reserve driver so they have more time to deal with GPDA work on the race weekends.

It seems all is sorted now. Bulk talked him back into taking part in the GPDA. Good solution in my view.
