Alonso ends Jerez test on top

On the final day of winter testing at Jerez de la Frontera, Ferrari's Fernando Alonso was the fastest man on track despite spending quite some time in the garage due to car problems. The Spaniard was followed by Toro Rosso's Jean-Eric Vergne and Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel.

Mercedes AMG did not come into action today and decided to end its Jerez test yesterday evening. After running for 3 days with their 2011 car, the team now focuses on the launch of their new car, due in two weeks at the next test at Barcelona.
