According to newsagency 'Reuters', Bernie Ecclestone will sell 50 of the world's rarest cars from his own personal collection. RM Auctions will handle the sale in October. Highlights include a 1955 Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing and a 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster.

A spokesman for RM Auctions said: "The collection, built up over decades of careful acquisition, is composed of a variety of automobiles that represent many marques and eras. This auction marks what will be the first and only public exhibition of the Ecclestone Collection."
