Zonta about V8 engines

Toyota test driver Ricardo Zonta slammed F1's move from V10 to 2.4 litre V8 engines in 2006. The current 3 litre V10's will be replaced at the end of this season in favour of 8 cylinder units in order to curb escalating speeds and cut power outputs from 900bhp to around 730-750bhp.

Ricardo Zonta, who has beeen testing a Toyota fitted with a V8 at Jerez this week, says the power reduction has made the cars too easy to drive.
Ricardo Zonta “It is just like a video game. It is dead easy to drive, not physical at all, therefore not a challenge. A little girl could drive that car. It is not technical and you can afford to make mistakes, because you can still make the corner on the line, there is so much time available. I suppose everyone would have this, but it is a bit boring.”
