Austrian Alexander Wurz, a former F1 driver for Williams, McLaren and Benetton is set to make his entry into F1 as team principal. Autosport has learned that an entry has been made under the name 'Team Superfund' to compete in the 2010 championship.

If the entry is accepted - Superfund is the 15th entry for an allowed 13 teams, Wurz is to become the team principal of a new team funded by Austrian business tycoon Christian Baha - the founder and owner of the investment company Superfund.

While acquisitions of facilities and assets is being postponed until the entry has been secured, autosport believes Superfund has already had serious talks with the governing body about its entry bid. It is however believed that a provisional deal has been done with Cosworth for the supply of standardised engines.

Alex Wurz himself is currently still racing and will compete in the upcoming Le Mans 24 hours at the wheel of a Peugeot 908 HDi FAP.
