No champagne in Bahrain

Several reports in Autosport mention that the inaugural Bahrain Grand Prix, scheduled for early April next year, will be missing the traditional spraying of champagne on the winner’s podium. The Bahrain International Circuit has confirmed that the reason behind the ban is out of respect for the Gulf nation's Islamic traditions. The last time there was no spraying of champagne on the podium was the San Marino Grand Prix this year as a mark of respect after Michael and Ralf Schumacher's mother passed away.
