Daimler board not happy with Schumacher acquisition

Daimler, the parent company of Mercedes GP is not happy with the acquisition of seven time world champion Michael Schumacher as a race driver. This is mainly due to the added expenses from hiring the ex-Ferrarista at approximately seven million Euros per season, which adds a lot operating costs to the already expensive manufacturer works race team based in Brackley, England.

The Daimler Works Council chief Uwe Werner told Germany's 'Frankfurter Rundschau', "For many colleagues it is unimaginable. The staff would have understood better if Mercedes had withdrawn from the expensive F1 business altogether."

Werner also added that it's 'hard to justify to our people' Schumacher's salary level when so many manufacturing plant employees are being laid off across the world.
