Brawn happy with new points system

Mercedes GP Team Principal, Ross Brawn, believes that the new points system, which will be introduced this season, will help to spice up the action during the races. In 2010, the winner of the race will score seven points more than the runner-up instead of 2 points in 2009.

Brawn said to the 'BBC': "The argument is, if there's only two points it's not such an incentive, if it's seven, it's much more attractive."

Brawn is convinced that the new elements in F1: new teams, no-refuelling rule, new tyre-rules and the new points system, will provide a fantastic spectacle. "It has some fascinating elements: our two new drivers, Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso at Ferrari, Jenson at McLaren; there are some wonderful, fascinating elements and I think it's going to be a great season," he said.
