Hispania withdraw from FOTA

Just a few months shy of the 2011 race season the Hispania Racing Team has confirmed its withdrawal from the Formula One Teams Association. Sealing their decision was their failure to pay the annual membership fee of 100,000 euros.

A spokesperson from HRT explained their departure to 'GPUpdate.net', “Hispania Racing left FOTA in December and wishes it the best for the future. It's been a good collaboration but it was a nonsense for a small team, as we are, to be involved in its politics. Of course the possibility of rejoining FOTA remains for the future.”
