Ahead of its rebrand as Alpine F1 Team, the French manufacturer has today revealed an interim ‘winter livery’, displayed on its 2020 Formula 1 machinery.

Starting from the 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship season, Groupe Renault’s team becomes Alpine F1 Team, equipped with a Renault E-TECH hybrid engine.

During an online press conference, the rebranded Alpine F1 Team has unveiled an interim livery that features a black base with red, white and blue colours adorning the rear of the car.

The new car will be named as Alpine A521 and will be revealed at an event next month. The interim winter livery will be in plcae until the launch of the new car. The new machinery will be driven by Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso, who will make his return to Formula 1 with the team he secured his two world championship titles with.

Commenting on the new colour scheme, Alpine Design Director Antony Villain said: „The livery presented today is the first evocation of the Alpine F1 team’s new identity. Some of the structural graphic elements will remain on the racing livery while others will change.

"The 'oversized' Alpine emblem in a tricolour graphics system is the first clear-cut symbol of the brand's identity in motorsport. The blue, white and red refer to the colours of the French and British flags, which is very important to us. Numerous variations on all the motorsport assets are still to come,” he concluded.
