Ahead of this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix, four-time F1 world champion Max Verstappen sounded a positive note, revealing that he will be wearing a special boots and helmet design at Red Bull's home race.

Having fractionally missed out on pole position in qualifying at the Canadian Grand Prix, four-time F1 champion Max Verstappen started from P2 on the grid at Montreal.

The Dutchman had a great start, but he was unable to pick polesitter George Russell off, but kept a close watch on the Mercedes. Despite unning in the dirty air, he was able to hang on to the Mercedes driver for the opening laps, but was unable to make a move.

Having suffered from higher than expected tyre degradation, Verstappen pitted early, but his second stint was not much better as he struggled to keep his rear tyres alive.

However, his final stint saw Verstappen fly, and he was able to get a bit closer to Russell, but he had to settle for second at the 70-lap Montreal race.

Ahead of this weekend's Austrian Grand Prix, reigning champion Verstappen has revealed that he will wear his Orange Lion special helmet on a weekend when he targets to keep the momentum going from Canada.

"We are heading now back to European races and Austria is always a special home race for the Team and there will be a lot happening this week.

"It is always great to feel the support from the grandstand at the Red Bull Ring and from the Orange Army. To mark this, I will be wearing my Orange Lion special helmet, which integrates orange and Red Bull blue and features the lion in the design.

"I will be wearing this and the blue boots in Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands. We want to keep the momentum going from Canada and we have been working hard to fine tune improvements.

"The circuit always a fun one to drive; it is a short lap but with good opportunities for overtaking. Hopefully we can have a strong qualifying and deliver a good performance."
