Formula E: Mini tops Berlin rookie test, Kvyat makes unexpected return to the FE paddock

Alpine's junior driver Gabriele Mini set the benchmark in the Berlin rookie test while former Red Bull F1 driver Daniil Kvyat finished in P11. F1Technical's senior writer Balazs Szabo reports from the Tempelhoz Airport Circuit.
All 22 drivers were split by just 1.5 seconds on a super competitive afternoon - as teams put the rookies through their paces with stacked development programmes. As in the morning's running, more than 1,000 laps were clocked up between them.
Gabriele Mini set a benchmark time of 57.428s lap, putting his Nissan Formula E car to the top of the leaderboard. Ayhancan Guven was two tenths of a second slower, ending up second for Porsche.
Indian driver Kush Maini ended up third fastest for Indian Formula E team Mahindra, ahead of Andretti's Jak Crawford and Cupra Kiro's Callum Voisin.
McLaren's junior driver Alex Dunne was over half a second slower than his Formula 2 rival, Mini, and ended up sixth quickest, ahead of Lola development driver Hugh Barter.
Mercedes' F1 reserve driver Fred Vesti drove for the Andretti Formula E team. The 23-year driver from Denmark set a time of 58.040s which was enough for a P8 on the leaderboard.
Williams' junior driver Alessandro Giusi took ninth, while former Formula 2 champion Theo Pourchaire rounded out the top ten of the Berlin rookie test.
Having retired from Formula 1, Daniil Kvyat returned to action at the Berlin rookie test, driving for the DS Penske outfit. The Russian driver set a 58.222s in the morning session, but only found two tenths in the afternoon practice to take 11th.
Ferrari's junior driver Dino Beganovic took 12th. The Swedish driver was one of the few drivers who were unable to improve their morning benchmark.
Eight-time F1 grand prix winner Charles Leclerc's younger brother Arthur Leclerc set the 13th quickest lap for the Monaco-based Venturi outfit, ahead of Nikita Bedrin and reigning Formula 3 champion Leonardo Fornaroli.
Zak O'Sullivan recorded a 58.410s which was enough for P16 while reigning F1 Academy champion Abbi Pulling ended up in P17, ahead of McLaren's Ella Lloyd.
Two-time W Series champion Jamie Chadwick took 19th for Jaguar TCS Racing, ahead of Elia Weiss, Jonathan Hoggard while Bianca Bustamante brought up the rear of the field.
