Tsunoda feels "reasonable about" his qualifying performance despite Q1 exit

Having fallen at the first time of asking in the opening qualifying segment, Red Bull's Yuki Tsunoda insisted that he felt "reasonable" about his performance, but his car simply lacked grip at the Hungaroring.
Red Bull failed to find the rhythm on Friday at the Hungaroring, but they looked in a slightly better shape come the third and final practice. However, that uptick in form fell away in qualifying as neither Max Verstappen nor Yuki Tsunoda looked comfortable in the all-important session.
The Japanese was just over a tenth slower than the Dutchman in the first qualifying segment, but it was enough for him to fall at the first time of asking in Q1. Although Verstappen made it through in Q1 and progress into the final segment, he was never in the fight for the front rows and recorded his worst Qualifying of the year with an eighth place.
“It's been a frustrating weekend so far for the Team. We've struggled to find pace and the lack of grip cost us time. My team are trying to find the solution, but we just haven't yet.
Personally, I can feel reasonable about my performance in Qualifying, I've stayed close to Max all weekend and that’s a positive for myself. I didn't make any mistakes in the session and I only missed out on Q2 by a few milliseconds which, unfortunately, is how it has been lately.
"We'll see about tomorrow, it's not easy to overtake here but anything can happen with mixed conditions expected. All I can do is keep pushing," concluded the Dutchman.
