Stewart still believes in Pizzonia

F1 world champion has informed Jaguar bosses that he believed that Antonio Pizzonia should have been given more time to show his talent. The under performing Brazilian has been replaced by Britain's Justin Wilson."I think he was progressing and he is only 22 years of age. But he did have great difficulty qualifying with the one lap format," said Stewart.

Let's not forget that younger drivers have done better than Pizzonia. Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, and Kimi Raikkonen have all impressed in their rookie season.

Stewart is still with Jaguar, but he did not have a say in sacking Pizzonia.

Stewart once said to Wilson that he was too tall to become an F1 driver. Wilson at that time was competing for Jackie Stewart's son, Paul Stewart's, F3 team.
