Kubica can become one of the stars of F1 - Theissen

After his spectacular qualifying session at the Bahrain Grand Prix, Robert Kubica received praise from all sides. In the opinion of BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen, the decision to sign the Pole as a regular driver has paid off.

Last Saturday, Robert grabbed pole position in Bahrain with a time of 1:33.096 minutes. It was the first time in his career that he had recorded the fastest qualifying time, and also the first time in the history of the team from Munich and Hinwil. "This qualifying session was a dream for him and the team", says Theissen. "It shows that we made the right decision in signing him up. Robert can become one of the stars of Formula One."

According to Theissen, Robert improved significantly over the winter, and proved his motivation to succeed. The Pole is now ready for his first victory. "He can be sure now that he can win a race, as soon as his car is good enough", says Theissen.
