Again different front wings at SA

By on

Just like in several races earlier in 2007, Super Aguri is testing a new front wing during Friday practice. In fact it is still the same doubled front wing as earlier this season, and so it appears as it the team is unsure about its performance advantages. Yet again both drivers reverted to a simpler wing without upper planes and with a different curve in the main plane. Note that both of the wings seen at Montreal consist of two elements, contrary to the three part wings that most topteams are running.

Very strange they havent adopted the double decker wing yet, I noticed the nose as a spare in Friday practice shots and was a tad confused. Considering the minimal amount of drag the upper element creates and the increase in downforce, while not needed particularly in Canada, could help the car. Who am I to say though? Im not driving the car.

Good on Taku though, made me smile seeing him out do Fernando. :)

Well, Honda has been saying they needed to do a lot of work with their front wing to get their rear-end instability under control. Now considering the SA07 is an RA106 evolution, perhaps the new wing is having some issues on top of it\'s benefits, or they want to make very sure they get it right?
