He has had 5 poles in last 7 years which is all because of the cars he has been driving and nothing to do with his abilities.

Whose fault is that then?

How is your question relevant to this discussion?

Anyway I don't know, It might be something to do with Ferrari producing 3-4th fastest cars and then Honda and their --- PU but again, How is your question relevant to this discussion?

This hole debate is pointless as Redbull is Reno customer for ages and they know every little detail on how to optimize their chassis around that PU. So if someone is expecting Mclaren, who only singed the deal to take Reno PU's 2 weeks ago, to be able to change their hole aero philosophy, internal cooling, gearbox alignment, + the HALO which dramatically will affect the cooling trough the main air intake and to be out of the box as a better car than the Redbull is crazy. This debate can be relevant in the 2nd part of the season, or maybe in the last 5-6 races of the 2018.

However, surprises are always possible but not likely.

This discussion has been 'off topic' from the fourth post on the opening page so my question is quite relevant in the context that hardly any posts in this thread are part of a technical discussion about RBR vs Mclaren next year and a sizable proportion of the posts in this thread are little better- if that- than the subjects in the fanboy ying yang thread.

And what about Renault?
Anyone thinks they will produce the car comparable to other 2?
Maybe they will start to deliver slightly inferior engines?

I can see Renault having an advantage at the beginning of the season (integration - they will know the PU better than the other two), but it won't cover their deficit to RB, but may be enough to beat McLaren, at least until McLaren has learned to tune the PU to their chassis & systems.

Been a McLaren supporter for most of my life, I truely wish them the best. However, I believe Red Bull has the package to beat (with Renault power anyway).
Also, being Dutch... Go Max ;-)

I also hope Hulkenberg will have a solid season. He deserves some credit because he is a great driver overall.

It will be very tough (impossible) for McLaren to straight up beat RB with a PU they know but i hope that from the second half of the Season onwards they can have a good fight. Also don't underestimate the Renault Works Team.

The chassis is already very strong in qualifing, competing with the powerfull Force India’s for a spot in Q3. They need to fix the tyre degradation to hold the position on Sunday. Also they will gain from any magic engine mode Renault will develop next year.

I think Redbull wil be in top three, McLaren/Renault fight for runnerup at 4 and 5. Poor Force India will drop back to 6, even if they not going backwards.

So Renault and Mclaren use BP fuel, while RB uses Exxon mobile?
I see this as potential disadvantage for RB. Maybe the fight between the trio will be closer than expected.

Hard to believe, at least in RBR's case. There are too many reports from RBR and Exxon about fuel- and lub-developments.

Next you'll be telling me the Red bull isn't powered by an oversized watch!
