Vettel may be not as good a driver as Hamilton in certain aspects - but if he was in the Merc team driving those cars, he would also have done less mistakes and had a better run than he did. Would that “run” be equal, or better, or worse than Lewis’s?
Multi WDC Nico Rosberg would probably still be in the sport.

Alonso basically begging for a drive at Mercedes, wanting to exploit Hamilton's weaknesses.

https://www.planetf1.com/news/fernando- ... amilton-2/
If the weaknesses are real:
He said: “It would be nice to compete against him in a proper fight. Maybe his weak points are not real and everything is calculated but it would be nice to discover.
Of course, Alonso had one go at it back when Hamilton was still a starry-eyed rookie finding his way in the big bad world of F1. And Hamilton showed Alonso his own weakness.
Wouldn't it be good for the sport, you must admit you're bored to death of the Bottas partnership?

Him beating Alonso again would be about equal to another title.

If I was Hamilton I'd grab the 7th and then have a word with Mercedes to sign up Alonso for 2021.
It is also possible that in a fair fight and despite his age he simply beat HAM that is not used anymore to have a good driver in front.

HAM have everything to lose here. People think he is the best driver of the world, so the current situation is the best for him ;)

Fully agree with that, it's certainly in Hamilton's best interests if the partnership stays as it is.

what has that claim to do with the quote above ? :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:
"Explain the ending to F1 in football terms"
"Hamilton was beating Verstappen 7-0, then the ref decided F%$& rules, next goal wins
while also sending off 4 Hamilton players to make it more interesting"

Basically saying the car was that good Rosberg would now have Schumacher's records in sight.

No, saying that Rosberg was better than Vettel.

I agree with the original statement, it was because Rosberg is better then Vettel

Not really. Rosberg faced two of the best drivers in history, in equal machinery, and faired very well against one and came consistently close to the other.

"Faired very well" is an understatement. He beat Michael 3:0 over their seasons together.
He did come close to Hamilton. It was only 1:3 against him in that contest.

And Vettel didn't face 3, but take 4 Championships? (Hamilton, Schumacher, Alonso) #-o

He raced against them but not in the same car, that's the point. #-o

I see. The subjective dick measuring of favorite drivers, no matter what car, has always made my teeth itch.

i am with you on the measuring thing, but there is a difference between comparing two drivers in different cars, which is utter BS, and comparing two drivers in similar cars ....
