Ahead of the BritishGP, a look back at McLaren's AustrianGP update:
The team revised the Rear Brake Duct Inlet to improve local flow conditioning, targeting a direct gain in aerodynamic load around the rear corner. Look at the geometry changes (arrows)!

Loos like the "McLarena wing":) Interesting choice to run it considering that will be only one FP due to sprint weekend schedule.

if they actually run it, it will be very encouraging and indicate that the snafu last week was only an install issue rather than something design related

Taking the Barcelona photo, Craig made a comment regarding the nice view of the top 'wishbone' on the Mclaren, underline the use of a multilink setup. So there are two separate top arms, which will affect both geometry and aerodynamics.

Multiple sources indicate the MCL40 prepared for the new RW. And imo it looks like "a refresh version" to the one they tried to use in Austria. Maybe they found out the initial solution for the actuator (from Austria) is not the ideal one and at Silverstone they try another iteration.

I don't know but that actuator looks really....tall?
If the wing is going to swing enough to clear it, our opening may be even larger than RBR?

Regardless of actuator height, the macarena state of the wing is anyway going to keep the upper flap 'behind' the actuator, because the rotation axis has to be closer to the top/rear edge of the flap, rather than the bottom/front edge.

Im sorry, but exactly that post youre referring to, i challenged and he agreed. Im Michael Rosquist in that twitter post.
There is not multiple sources suggesting the macarena wing is back. Can be they will bring, but! the one photographed so far, is not it

Is that gold-foiled bulge near the exhaust a part of the fuel tank?

The fuel tank is all within the safety cell, behind the driver and below the roll hoop. That gold foiled item is perhaps part of the cooling system as it appears to have a bleed tube attached to it.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Re: Mclaren MCL40

McLaren has revised the floor board, now the vertical element has an opening that separates the lower part creating a cut, (Blu).
Moreover the main profile of the FB now features a softer and less squared profile (red)

And according to Craig, one of McLaren's BritishGP update is a mod to the face of the brake inlet scoop. A 3D printed part with wire debris fences. The top inner corner it's curve downwards, reducing the inlet area and directing more flow around the back of the tyre.

McLarenF1 introduced this new Front Brake Duct design for the primary reason of performance and flow conditioning. This updated design results in improved flow conditioning and a gain in aerodynamic load.

Lot of refinement work being done. Maybe mclaren getting happier with overall flow and it's about finding those improvements

I think they try to squeeze all is possible from this MCL40 iteration. Zak said now on f1tv that some big upgrades are coming next races, and they are very confident about it.

McLaren's floor update includes a subtle change to the floorboard.
