Mercedes W11

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The DAS mechanism which added 2 kg of weight in first version is now much lighter.

New rear wing endplates too (extended hanging vanes above the rear tyre):

Is it a matter of perspective, or have the number of step cuts in the top of the end plate been altered as well?

No strakes/spikes sticking out from under the front leading edge of the floor (behind the bargeboards)?.... I find that odd, definitely goes against modern design trends...

Good side-by-side comparison shot of both the rear wing and mirror stalk differences.

Maybe they weren't installed yet at that point. They would be a vulnerable part, so one that should be designed to be changed/removed/replaced easily, thus a part that would be placed on after the floor is affixed to the car.

The image is of the top of the floor so you would not see any strakes etc.

The winglet on top of the suspension arm is also relocated, isn't it?

Is that two slightly different iterations of the nose there for Bottas (the two front wings in the background)?

Looks like one slightly more raised at the tip than the other.
