Force India VJM02

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Will the VJM02 improve the teams constructors standings compared to '08?

The mentioning of lower cooling requirements for the Mercedes engine is intriguing, as I have heard it before.
Anyway, if this is true, the explanation should be that either the Merc engine is more efficient for the same power, able to run hotter or spitting out more energy through the exhaust than the others, correct?
Does anyona have confirmed info on the above?

or they run richer to cool the engine with fuel... or they mave more efficient heat exchangers, or better Mobil 1 lubricants... it could be a number or combination of things.

Well packages looking car. It will propell them to where STR were last year i feel, posibly winding to a GP victory as well, probably to Sutil in wet conditions ala Monza last year tho, that could be the ultimate for that car and team.

I recon there could be a few more touches added before Oz, id recon a turning vane simmilar to what the RB5 and F60 has on its front wing to give a little extra downforce there.

Need to see rear diffuser tho for me.

You don't need to be an engineer to design an F1 car these days, where did you get that idea Scot?

We do not need 2 threads on the same subject.

There is already a thread about this here : viewtopic.php?f=1&t=6400

Try and look before you post a new thread :)

Well, I think merging these two threads is a good idea. This is actually a proper one to discuss design.

Its really quite a beautiful car :)

The side pods look to be the strangest yet as far as shape and design. Also, the mirrors look like they have a fair bit of though into them as well! I love the mirror mounts, they look like they could provide some downforce :)

Nice car FIF1 :)
