Variente's diffuser was quite the surprise. A concept I'd been wondering about but hadn't tried yet...

There are a lot of interesting solutions going on there. Good job everyone!

I'm glad to see that nearly every wing was nicely designed (back in the old KVRC days, that was quite rare), which is probably the single most important thing to take care of.
There are cars with some interesting details too, which i'll surely test in the next days!

Some designs had already been shown, others are a nice surprise.
Just to mention a few:
JJR doesn't like spending time on CAD, but his cars are always fighting for the top positions, so we better keep an eye on him.
Koldskaal started from a strong base, and those new wings and diffuser are quite worrying for me.
Talno seems to be following CAEdevice's path, so we should expect some solid performance.
TF has already won, and that new car seems to be good for a proper comeback.

Well, let's wait and see...i just hope that i haven't messed up something like legality or cooling (it never happens, i swear :? ).

BTW i wish we could get this kind of images once the simulations are done:

I don't think they are too revealing, and it was very interesting to study how each design philosophy and detail influenced the various parts of the car.

Yeah, you sould see that from last year's first race. I managed to make it about as efficient as a traditional diffuser, so i could use it without problems. It moves the CoP further backwards, which is a thing that i needed.
Nice car, BTW. Very smooth and elegant. Your first race was pretty good, so i expect no less this time!

That images defintely show too much :)
I have nothing to hide on my car that would be visible from such a perspective (loor and vortices are quite important ;) ) , but I think that it would be more realistic a complete view of the geometry (including view from above or diffuser detalis) than pressure or velocity maps.

I realized only now, looking at the car livery, that Baltic is, more precisely, a Lithuanian team :)

Baltic is registered as German. Last year, I actually colored him kind of Lithuanian already, as I am kind of linked to that country. This year, I went for the yellow, green and red because white and red are already pretty much taken. He does not specify which colors he wants, so I took my own approach. I can change any colors at request by the way, just let me know.

What a cool rendering! Did you get it with Paraview?

Yes, its the "erdc_iceFire_L" colormap with raytracing rendering enabled on paraview.

Edit: Seems like i made a mistake, its not "erdc_iceFire_L". It's "erdc_divLow_icePeach"

Why not! Very cool!
But i'd be ok also with the normal images takes from the Mantium Post Processing, to minimize Andre's workload.

I may have to give it a try soon... Thanks for the compliment but hopefully I can bring more than just new sidepods for the next race 😂

I have a new front wing but haven't managed to generate the rear df to balance it yet. I end up with a CoP of around 0.7m 😭

The absolute pressure scale is triggering me 😂 Especially when it's Cp~0.65

Image one of my test cases rendered all fancy pants like. In this case I created a full length channel around the sidepods as a bit of an experiment

on a side note I've run a test case with just a rear wing to find it's absolute performance in clean air... safe to say I think I have some air flow issues on the whole car

What direction is the flow moving? You might have to nose it up a bit to align it to air box wake. Alternatively a downwash wing just behind the cockpit should help push that dirty air under the rear wing.
