I used to be a big Enstone fan through all its guises, and they were a real pioneer in fan engagement in the Kimi/Grosjean/“Lotus” days.

They always had a way of punching well above their weight and weren’t afraid to try new things.

But since the return to Renault, their world-renowned management, politics and and general incompetence has sucked all life out of Enstone, and it’s been a very long time since there’s been anything to like or admire.

So yeah, it’s quiet. It’s a shame!

I think they underestimated the competitors.

Almost each team made significant changes to the car over winter. Aston lots of changes. VCARB not that much, but as well. Williams took half of Mercedes car this year (whole rear). Even Sauber had more changes to the car. I'm not sure about Haas. Maybe its just better drivers than last year. There was a table who gained how much considering last year start and the gains are close to 1 sec per lap in some teams.

And Alpine uses 2024 chassis, so the changes are absolutely minimal. I think they assumed everyone will stay more less with 2024 to focus on 2026. And here we are. Q1 exits. Struggling with the tyres. Struggling with one lap pace. I don't see any strong points of this car.

The real pace is somewhere around P8 / P9 but that's it.

Still, I had more hopes given how they finished 2024 and with Sanchez.

But indeed for 2026 it is a big change including engine … so I guess they write off 2025 completely

Me too. They were progressing good last year. I guess the abilities are there but they simply scarified this year.

WHAT is not fair - the team supporters had really tough recent years. At last, they should think about fans and bring some results, satisfaction especially this is the last year with Renault, so the end of era.

This team is always focusing on seasons to come, almost never on the current one. I feel cheated.

Estimated cost of Doohan crash.
If monocoque and gearbox are still usable, 300 to 400 thousand.
The whole car 1,5 mio.
Just for information.

Where did this pace come from?

Chassis seems intrinsically good but gets outgunned when power is more deciding factor.

Quite a neat technical, aero and design concept though, was showing some interesting results later in 2024 season which is still there this season. They were early to the sidepod entrance arrangement too, and one that other teams have generally moved toward.

Gazly last year really seemed to find his strength in how his speed interacts with this car, to obvious effect.

This track, this year is really demanding of just how the tyre interaction plays out in pure grip. Definitely showcases the technical achievement of Alpine engineering in F1 factory.

The car is working very well.
This team has the most creating aero engineers .
They just lack the resources to refine the innovations.
If the car had the mercedes unit this year they would be the dark horse on the grid.
For Sure!!

Never a dull moment at Alpine. Just a ball of chaos since Enstone came back under the Renault umbrella.

I wonder what it's like to work at Alpine as a regular ol' person. Must be annoying getting an email every week about some major company shake-up lol!

I think Flavio's style doesn't "fit" the current times. It's a bit like penguin in Arizona.
