Buyer found for Aston Martin Lagonda’s F1 shares

The British car marque has announced that it expects to release its minority stake in the F1 team in the third quarter of this year in a £110 million transaction.

That is in conjunction with further investment from Yew Tree Investments, the Lawrence Stroll-led consortium, which is poised to up its involvement in the road car business from 27.67 per cent to 33 per cent.“

They have to buy it first of all, they could use the money instead for the 2026 project. More important, you have to test it in the windtunnel and adopt the sim and other tools. That needs time, wind tunnel and CFD hours that can also be used for the 2026 project.

Cowell said that currently noone works on developments for the 2025 car, so ressources need to be switched back to the 2025 project. Don't know it's worth it.

But I am still waiting for their own rear suspension the "insiders" on twitter advertised the last months...

You mean for the aero change requirements?

Did someone say they were gonna have our own rear suspensions on this years car? I thought I heard test front suspension parts??

We did see Newey taking notes on McLaren's rear suspension.

Cowell only said that they will test some experimental parts for 2026 later in the year, he said nothing about suspension parts or that they would race with it. That was a phantasy product of some guys. Especially because the suspension can’t be the same next year. There’s barely a part from the AMR25, which can be used in the AMR26…

I'm 100% certain Suspension parts was mentioned. I "PRESUMED" he meant internal parts(torsion spring, dampers, etc) cause obviously all the external stuff is gonna be different.

See this is why we shouldn't listen to the rumor mill...

He's pretty frank about where he's gonna be next year.

I have to correct myself, Cowell said that they will try to race parts that will be similar across the 25er and 26er car. But no specific mention what parts he means, so it could be anything. It's also the question how many parts can be used in both cars, I guess some internal parts (as you mentioned) are not far from the truth. But for sure not a new rear or front suspension...
"In addition, we're developing any components that are similar across the '26 and '25 cars now so we can take them to circuits this season and do full race distances with them. If we avoid issues, these races will provide the validation testing we need to say these components are ready to go into the '26 car. There are many components we will go racing with in the second half of the season which could be on next year's car."

Allison admitted this week that the new Mercedes rear suspension made the car more difficult and unprecitable under braking and turn-in at high speed, so they go back to the old configuration. Don't believe that AMR want to bind ressources for new problems this year...

Alonso will skip FP1, and it sounds like his participation for the rest of the weekend isn't sure either

"Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team
@AstonMartinF1
Fernando will be back in the AMR25 for FP2 this afternoon.

He chose to sit out the opening practice session to limit his time in the car as he manages a muscular injury in his back. Having undergone further treatment this morning and medically cleared by the FIA, Fernando will be back in the AMR25 alongside Lance.

Felipe Drugovich delivered a busy FP1 programme with Lance earlier today, collecting important data as the team continues to evaluate recent car updates."

P4/P5 is nice but even if it was qualifying’s result it would only get exciting if they can maintain that pace all weekend into the race. I don’t like flash in the pan performances that lead to nothing. Hopefully it’s not just a track thing and they understand the updates now.
