I think you guys are over thinking this.
  • The battery is only allowed to store 4MJ.
  • Deployment is between 7MJ and 9MJ depending on the circuit drivers also get an extra 0.5MJ in overtake mode.
  • Supper clipping is 350kw, but can only be done when the ICE is at 100% throttle on the straits and in strait line mode.
  • Regular harvesting is done under breaking and during lift and cost and is capped at 250 kw.
On each track strait line mode can only be used in designated segments of the track.

What teams are working on is trying to harvest as much as they can under breaking because it's free energy. After all you have to slow the car or you will end up in the gravel or a wall. Lico and super clipping is used to make up the difference so they can achieve maximum deployment per lap.

What do we think about FP performance?

My take is that, given the evaluation of new parts, it’s impossible to read too much in. The car looks well balanced in Charles’ hands but I suspect this track requires too much on throttle to compete with the Mercedes powered cars. Also tyre wear doesn’t seem to be our strength, unless the upgrade helps with that (?)

Cause for cautious optimism on that last point:
On the medium tyres, Leclerc was fastest in the long run, averaging 1'21"696 over seven laps, ahead of Russell (1'21"788 over nine laps) and with a wider margin over Piastri (1'22"336 over seven laps). Track evolution requires caution when interpreting this data for the race, but the consistency shown by the SF-26 is nevertheless an encouraging sign.
Reporting a step with the updates although probably still this won’t be enough to be properly competitive without a new engine: https://it.motorsport.com/f1/news/f1-fe ... /10829666/

Charles is back to prove himself again that he is the number one in the team. That done though, it won't look so amazing because I predict we will finish 5th and 6th!
