Hold off the personal fights, folks. Stop making the site worse. Thanks.
I think there some targeted comments towards a driver than personal fights. Maybe those targeted harsh comments should be removed or prevented. Then the forum would be a lot better

Yea, sorry I thought his infringement in Silverstone was overtaking a car- it was just failing to slow under a yellow flag.
Even so, it’s still a poor ‘excuse’ of a decision by the stewards
The incident in Silverstone was that he has just overtaken max, was coming up on hulk who was stopped off track but the lights on the panel were flashing blue, after he's already down the road and almost out of the yellow flag zone the lights on his steering wheel turn yellow to indicate a yellow flag but the panel ahead was green. Fia said the fact that he had just overtaken max and was looking in his mirrors, the fact that he was almost out of the yellow flag zone by the time the lights came on on his wheel and a green panel light ahead he didn't deserve a penalty

When have we seen/ heard so many infringement/ potential penalties been given a lenient outcome as this season??

What next? A driver being let off for wiping another driver out of the race because he closed his eyes?

The pace of this car has been impressive considering we have had 3 power tracks in a row which is the cars biggest weakness. Charles just needs to keep doing what he is doing and Lewis just needs a squeaky clean weekend, no crashes in FP3, no jump starts, no getting caught up in turn one incidents, no yellow flag infringements and they will both be up there come the chequered flag. Looking forward to tracks like Hungary and Netherlands which are next and then ADIO 2 for Monza 8)
I keep hearing ADUO 2 for Zandvoort - maybe they’ll run it in FP1 or something to check it before introducing properly for Monza? Not sure there’d be a lot of point although reliability changes are allowed after homologation so perhaps it has some value.

But yeah, I agree. I thought we would come away from this races much worse off, so logic would dictate that, if they can be this close in Silverstone/Spa, they can potentially be ahead on a less power sensitive track. Question is: is Hungary really not power sensitive these days? Hasn’t it almost become medium speed? I kinda think that so far this season the tracks haven’t played out how you would expect and how much deployment you need isn’t always inversely proportional to the amount of slower corners (for some reason I don’t fully understand).

But still, good progress and I think if we can get good results in the next couple of races and ADUO 2 performs as expected, we could have a really interesting second half of the season (especially if the gulf races return).

*The ADUO2 engine is set for Monza, but it’s not a foregone conclusion: “Yes, but only if everything goes smoothly” - Fred said
*A third major upgrade package is expected to arrive later in the season at Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
*plus V2 of the macarena wing

Great result from both drivers and team. I cannot comprehend how good is this car with so much engine deficit. Kudos to Maranelo for aero. Its pity they do so poor job on the engine side this year but i hope they will be better with the new engine.

When is the new engine coming ? If we introduce it in next few races, with both drivers performing still shot at WCC.

According to AR, Monza. Seems like the next big aero package is a Zandvoort, so they might want to do it piecemeal. It would be good to have the engine introduced before monza so they can get data before running it hard in Monza.

They really need to outlaw machine learning or any other kind of algorithm that determines the deployment and have it purely as a response to a driver command (i would favour some kind of button but could be mapped to the throttle per Gary Anderson’s suggestion). Tbh the regulations *already* prohibit this: “the driver must drive the car alone and unaided” is a very broad regulation but if there’s ever been a time to invoke this catch-all, it’s now.

Not strictly a Ferrari topic but Leclerc was moaning about it [albeit not as much as Russell!] and I personally think it’s a much bigger issue than all the moaning about push-to-pass overtakes or de-rating. Those are the same for everyone all the time - this randomly kicks in whenever it fancies it and is fundamentally undermining the human element of the sport.

yea agree overtakes feels random, like i didn't expect Charles at the very start to over take George and max like a rocket, but its due to there car having issue.. and later seeing charles helpless out of turn 1.. this track was definitely one of the worst one for these cars.. if im not mistaken spa won't be there next year right?

Anyway, great result for the team. Some excellent driving by both for most of the race, although Hamilton had a couple of clumsy moments and Leclerc chose borderline violence.

Disappointed to see so much bickering in this thread. We should be pleased that Charles wasn't penalized.

And instead of just moaning about it, maybe show some explanation as to why? Because I believe the stewards are right. Charles is on the same line before the braking zone, he isn't moving back and Oscar is not alongside at corner entry, so is not entitled to space.

Hamilton was a little unlucky, but at the end of the day, he did end another drivers race. 5 seconds was lenient in that regard.

The most encouraging thing is that Kimi wasn't able to run away and hide in the first stint, nor did he just reel in Charles easily in the 2nd.

Removed a chunk of unnecessary commentary regarding whether this is a "Team Hamilton" thread.

No, it's not. However, LH is a driver for this team and therefore is surely on topic for it?

5 second penalty and ends up losing 12 to Leclerc. What the…
finished 15s behind. Leclerc had much better pace again, just like in Silverstone. Lewis was lucky Max was holding Charles on the beginning. With clean air, Hamilton just fell behind. Idk if Hamilton had significant damage from the crash in which he destroyed Russell´s race but Leclerc also crashed into Piastri (should have been punished as well and both with more than 5s but FIA wants Ferrari in the championship...) and could have carried damage from that as well

Another tough weekend for Hamilton. He desperately needs to bounce back on the next GP which is one of his best tracks, otherwise it will get ominous for him
Lewis challenged Charles during the first stint and was the fastest car on track during the second stint at one point, all with a bargeboard missing. People coming in the thread ever week no matter the result just to --- on a driver is so annoying
Lewis overtook Oscar on lap 9.
Charles was driving right behind Max the whole time and Max was holding him back.
Max pitted on lap 18.
VSC came out on lap 20; Charles, after just two laps in clear air, had opened up a 4-second lead over Lewis...

It’s the same situation as with Sainz: he was attacking Charles on the first few laps, suggesting he was faster, but after a few laps, as his tyres wore out more, his pace dropped like a stone.

second stint, at the end of the VSC:
Hamilton gap to Charles 12s
end of the race 15s

end of the disccussion...
