ferrari may have veto over f1 rule but its not open ended they can only use if they can prove that rules introduced by fia severely affect them they cant use it to be spiteful
I think all the PU manufacturers do.

The idea is that Ferrari will still be significantly behind all the other PUs, which lead to them blocking it. Not that they are being spiteful.

Also with Renault planning to release a whole new PU for the beginning of 2022, the idea there is there They've gonna look for alot of leeway to make changes to fix reliability features. That almost always lead to introducing realibility change that improvement power. Then bickering about cheating.

Mediums. But Max was on an old set as well, so they're probably closer

Yep. They're close but plenty more to dial in for everyone. Alex within 0.15 of Max also a great start. Lets see where this goes.

We’ll see. They can’t deny GAS has been stellar. If they indeed hold him at AlphaT that would be very stupid.
But Gasly was nearly as bad as Albon last time, when driving the Red Bull with Verstappen's setup. (Even Vettel is fairly terrible when driving the Ferrari with Leclerc's setup for that matter.) Obviously the number two driver's role is to drive a car with the same or very similar setup as the number one driver for development purposes. :)

It's not worth Red Bull making a dramatically different car for Gasly, when they already have a quick car (and Red Bull were not pleased with Gasly's unreasonable demands for such last time). So it's a tricky one. :wtf:

Yet at the moment, Gasly seems quite competent. It's all terribly confusing! :)

Horner has, of course, ruled out Gasly at RBR but as we know Horner lies, lol. :P

Another P3.The soft tires was really rubbish.Mediums was the best trye for this race.
I think Max can beat bottas if he started the race with Mediums. They really should use medium in Q2.

He may then be starting p5 and get passed by other cars off the grid. Or, taken off. It is always better to start where you are less likely to be in someone else' accident.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned on here but just mentioned on the TV that RBR will take over the Honda engine and develop it with an Austrian firm.

Also that Merc apparently are happy with the engine freeze Red Bull would want. Ferrari not so, I presume! Could be some fireworks there...

What they need to do is come to an agreement tomorrow. Freeze the units until simpler units can come (and more manufacturers) and also allow for power deficit units to come into the equality window.

With AVL? That is partly owned by Marko.

It was Ted. I wouldn't say he's an oracle but there seemed to be a reasonable amount of detail there which makes me think it wasn't just pie in the sky.

Correct. AVL based in Graz, is what he said. 'Down the road from where Helmut Marko lives' was mentioned but not that he's involved with the company.
