Another example of why Albon shouldn't be driving for Red Bull next year.
You know, you can agree or disagree with Fulcrum but voting him down just cause you don't like what he says is ...., I don't know filling the blank.

I tried to check with mods, why do they have downvote feature on this site. As usual, they don't know, but strongly defend having it as it is there. They couldn't tell why it's not there on race threads. But anyway it's useful for some people to secretly satiate their ego, when they can't openly argue and disagree.

Helmut Marko: Front wing thread incorrectly adjusted during pit stop.

Helmut Marko admits that Max Verstappen did indeed drive a wrongly adjusted front wing during the Turkish Grand Prix. This happened during a pit stop and is partly due to the new front wing that Red Bull Racing used at Istanbul Park, says the team's adviser.
"We used a new front wing in Istanbul. The thread of the adjustment goes in the opposite direction than the old one. A wrong adjustment was made."

In order to react with the driving behavior to the fresh tires and the drier track, he [Max] wanted to have a steeper front wing.
“If you have other tires fitted, you naturally also adjust the front wing,” explains Marko. In addition, the Red Bull Racing pit crew made a mistake: where the mechanic on one side of the front wing did turn in the right direction and thus put more downforce on the wing, the mechanic on the other side turned the wrong side. on. So he flattened the wing on that side, so that the part generated less downforce.

The result: "After that, almost nothing worked," says Verstappen. "Normally you adjust one degree here or there, in the order of magnitude. But seven degrees is a lot. What else do you want to do as a driver?" After the pit stop he was stuck behind other cars: “The asphalt was ridiculously slippery.

Verstappen had a similar incident with Hamilton back in China 2018 as he did with Perez at Istanbul. Both times he got caught out by the leading car's aero wake and went off. Both times he was in position to win the race.

Looking at the cars of Verstappen and Albon, in photos taken from the same angle, the difference between left and right at Verstappen is clearly visible.

The moment, mechanics adjust the front wing right and left. This is done with electronic screwdrivers, which can be pre-set to the number of revolutions and direction of rotation.

You're missing the point. The pictures examine the difference in height between the left and right side of the wing. Notice that Albon's wing on bottom row is equal in height left and right while Verstappen's has a significant difference on top.
I drew the redline cause the article's yellow line wasnt aligned properly and was a bit exaggerated.

Right, I use that same horizontal plane and put it over the front tires and showed the same height difference between the left and right front tires. Basically most of that height difference is the slant/bank in the track.

It could be some suspension lean as well in it from the car turning left at velocity. All you're showing is the whole car is in a slight Pisa tower like lean.

As someone who supports Max and loves his driving style, it hurts to see him waste the prime years of his career with these perennial underachievers.

He’s actually signed a contract until the end of 2024... what a fool

He was making a Verstappen to Albon comparsion with both on the same corner, thus the things you raise should be constant between the two photos.

It was a good post, thanks Jaisonas, something to think about indeed.

Again you still don't get it. The red line is aligned with the base of the front nose, pixel by pixel. We're not looking at the angle of the line. We want that line like in Albon's car to have the same difference of height with the flaps of each side since its aligned with the wing base.
The difference you're supposed to see is in the flap settings between the left and right side on Verstappens car (now pointed with extra red arrows) since the line touches the left side but its right side its quite lower. Those are the 7 degrees difference Marko was talking about.

But where else is he going to go? Not many options as he is not going to be a Merc or Ferrari driver, so it only really leaves Red Bull, Renault or Mclaren. Of which Red bull has to be by far the best option.

AM may develop into a front runner, or they may not. Either way he would not have known this at the time, and it will not be before 2024 anyway
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Thinking like that way is not correct, at least for me. I never supported a driver or a team in any sport if he/they already winning. If a driver has good then it is ok if he can not get wdc. So I know what Max has as talent or Leclerc for example. They are very good drivers but a car like mercedes a mid level driver can be champion against them. So it is not just about talent.
If Max would be at merc alongside Ham I am sure he can be champion by beating Ham. But as you.see they(merc) don't need/want anyone who can fight with Hamilton.
So Max is at best place he can be. It is right to be at for future too. Only question comes from Honda departure. I hope they can find a better solution instead of being costumer. This times will not last long but who know who will be next one dominate. Unfortunately only thing we know is there will be next one because of F1 working style.
