Well that must be one of the most beautiful TV ads I have ever seen.
It really looks like a draem, and yet all vehicles are reality.

A nice thing to note is how that guy's mustache evolves through time ;)

Very interesting. I'was almost touched.

Good thing it was Honda, if it was some other manufacturer with over 100 years history this commercial would last like Ghandi

LOL.....My girlfriend hates the music in the advert, used to hate the entire thing until I pionted out each vehicle shown and its significance to Honda...

...Now she loves it and thinks its very "innovative". Even Mosley would be impressed with such a dramatic change of mind in such a short space of time!

Well I like the music :)

Anyone knows the song or the artist in this ad?

EDIT: found the song.. but who sings it in the Honda ad?

"The Impossible Dream"
from MAN OF LA MANCHA (1972)
music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion

EDIT: FOUND IT!!

Honda 'Impossible Dream' was launched on December 2, 2005, a panoramic 2 minute television commercial featuring British actor Simon Day riding and driving on the roads and waterways of New Zealand.

The music for the TV ad is Andy Williams singing “Impossible Dream (The Quest)”, found in his album, "16 Most Requested Songs". The song was written by Joe Darian for the Don Quixote musical, "Man of La Mancha". Darion won the 1965/66 Tony award for best lyrics of the Broadway season.

but you still havent found out the name of the guy who sings it. Garrison Keillor is the guy who does the narration to all of honda's recent ads including:
"The Cog" (Accord)
and
"Hate Something Chage Something" (Diesil).

Now THAT was singing and song writing. After song like this I always get the urge to give a bit of Loctite’s Super Glue for chewing to "singers" like Britney or 50 cent!

The Impossible Dream

Lyrics by Joe Darion
Music by Mitch Leigh
Performed by Andy Williams

To dream the impossible dream,
to fight the unbeatable foe,
to bear with unbearable sorrow,
to run where the brave dare not go.

To right the unrightable wrong,
to love pure and chaste from afar,
to try when your arms are too weary,
to reach the unreachable star.

This is my quest,
to follow that star --
no matter how hopeless,
no matter how far.

To fight for the right
without question or pause,
to be willing to march into hell for a
heavenly cause.

And I know if I'll only be true to this
glorious quest
that my heart will be peaceful and calm
when I'm laid to my rest.

And the world will be better for this,
that one man scorned and covered with scars
still strove with his last ounce of courage,
to fight the unbeatable foe,
to reach the unreachable stars.

welcome to the candy shop... you're toxic

Just seen a new Honda add. Not as good but still catchy.
They just keep churning them out

You're right...they do. Which Honda advert do you think is best?
I've gotta say "the Cog" (the one for the Honda Accord...where the car parts make a "mouse trap" like chain of events to the music "Rappers Delight" by the Sugar Hill Gang.

I've just seen and heard that Honda ad that was orignally posted. 8)
Made me smile a lot. :D
And also reminded me why I love anything with wheels or an engine. :D

It also reminded me of what triggered my passsions for all things fast:-
1. The opening sequence to The Italian Job (Mirua, mountains and Andy Wlliams - nuff said)
2. Seeing Senna around Monaco in the wet in 1984 when I was eight.

Brings a tear to my eye..... :-({|=

Sorry Monkeyboy1976, but Andy Williams didn't sing any song in the Italian Job.

The song in the begining sequence where the character "Roger Beckerman" is driving the Orange Lamborghini Miura, is called "On Days Like These" and is sung by Matt Munro.

But I've got to agree with you, what a GREAT song...and what a great way to drive...Lambo Mirua, the Alps and that song. Wow...wish I cud do tht!

Matt Munro! Of course! What a muppet.

I have a list of things that I must do before I die. Not a long list. Just a few things. A Mirua through the Alps from Turin to Monaco is top of the list.

Noticed that there is a nice little fold out card advert type thing from Honda with F1 Racing magazine this month. It shows all the modes of transport shown in the ad. Nice.
