I found this really fascinating!
In this exclusive interview, we sit down with the inventor himself, Professor Malcolm Smith of the University of Cambridge, to hear the incredible true story of the inerter. He reveals how a principle from electrical engineering allowed him to correct a 70-year-old flaw in mechanical theory, leading him to build the first prototype out of a child's Meccano set.
