F1Technical updated. What's new?

Post

There are some obvious and less obvious changes in f1technical since today.
The most important are below:

- Changed layout everywhere around the website
- A post rating system in the forum, also making postcount less prominent. For more information, please see the reputation section in the FAQ:  faq.php
- A LOT of improvements to reduce loading time (even more to come)
- A new engineering projects forum section. Please report any threads that need to be moved into this section to the mods
- New navigation in the gallery
- More prominent display of tags on articles, developments and photos. This is just a first step, as we'll group technical articles that way in the near future as well
- We've moved to a new, more powerful server at the same time

It looks great! But the posts don't have enough borders within them, if that makes any sense.

Page looks great, Tomba.

* except my post just appeared before ESPI's and I posted after him. Clock issue?

The PM's are really funky now, but overall I'm very happy with it. Now it looks modern, but it will take time to get used to. Especially with all of the mod buttons and "stuff".

The clock was indeed incorrect on this new server. It's been corrected now!

PM inbox etc have quite a different layout indeed, I hope it's for the better.
I have used it during development of course, and I'm used to it, so I'm confident you guys will be as well.

Tips for improvements and error reports are welcome!

The whole header section is broken for me. It's a bunch of unformated text links (Home, News, Technology, etc). Anyone else experiencing this?

The number of posts is still visible in the members list, but other than that, we wanted it to be less prominent. As such, the ranks that were based on the number of posts have been removed, as well as the display of the postcount aside of each post.

Instead, the voting system is designed to give the community a chance to rate posts according to their quality. The "reputation" that is built by people voting on your posts is displayed under your nickname and on your profiles. Currently, everybody is still on 0, due to no votes being given yet.

Is there any chance that the negative rating option can be taken away? It's troll paradise.

Otherwise, it's very shiny.
