If Lance leaves, so does AM.It will be sold to some fincial consortium.WardenOfTheNorth wrote: ↑04 Jun 2026, 16:15For the first time in years, if ever, I get the feeling Lance might leave F1....I think he'd do really well in WEC or similar.
Not sure why you say that, AMR F1 are running Button in WEC this year. So they're already in both.NAPI10 wrote: ↑04 Jun 2026, 16:29If Lance leaves, so does AM.It will be sold to some fincial consortium.WardenOfTheNorth wrote: ↑04 Jun 2026, 16:15For the first time in years, if ever, I get the feeling Lance might leave F1....I think he'd do really well in WEC or similar.
Button is not driving in WEC. He's retired. AMR F1 and Stroll don't have anything to do with the Valkyrie at Le Mans. That project is funded entirely by the heart of racing (THOR). They may have used some technical support to design the car and that's it. The ongoing operations and race team are funded by THOR, not Stroll.
Aston Martin is the manufacturer and co-owner of the racing program. The team is officially named the Aston Martin THOR Team, reflecting a deep partnership where Aston Martin provides the Valkyrie hypercar (developed from their road-legal hypercar) and THOR (The Heart of Racing) operates the team.AR3-GP wrote: ↑04 Jun 2026, 20:52Button is not driving in WEC. Is this some kind of AI response? I follow this championship and sportscar racing closely, including reading all the insider bits. The role of Aston Martin (and all of its hydra heads) is very little in this project. Gabe Newell is owner of THOR. He is a billionaire. This is his passion project. He obtained the license from AMR to use the Valkyrie and turn it into a hypercar. Without him, there is no Aston Martin Valkyrie racing anywhere with any other team. This is not Stroll or AMR's project. It's a THOR project. They are paying for all of it.diffuser wrote: ↑04 Jun 2026, 21:05Aston Martin is the manufacturer and co-owner of the racing program. Manufacturer Role: Aston Martin produces the Valkyrie LMH chassis and engine, which is the only Hypercar derived from a road-legal production car.
Operational Role: The Heart of Racing (THOR) manages the day-to-day racing operations, logistics, and driver lineup.
Ownership: The program is a joint effort, with Aston Martin retaining its identity as the car's builder while leveraging THOR's endurance racing expertise.
Now if it's AMR, AMR F1, AML or AM I don't know but it's one of them.
Sorry not sure where I got the Button thing.
You right until the Money bit, THOR started the project but in 2023 revival. Aston Martin own more the 50% of the hyper car project which is run by Heart or Racing now inst3ad being wholly owned. Heart of Racing is "practically" a subsidary of Aston Martin nowadays although not owned. Any ways this is the wrong place to talk about this.AR3-GP wrote: ↑04 Jun 2026, 21:22Is this some kind of AI response? It's relevant because it was initially argued that Lawrence Stroll has a fundamental interest in racing beyond Lance Stroll. What you're saying doesn't track with what I know, but I'll leave it at that.Ashwinv16 wrote: ↑04 Jun 2026, 21:33

The Valkyrie LMH is funded primarily by billionaire Gabe Newell[1] and designed and built primarily by Multimatic[2] with some technical assistance from AMR.[3] I haven't seen anything confirming AMPT's involvement. I hope they are involved simply because otherwise I have no clue what AMPT is for, and I doubt Stroll is paying Andrew Green to sit around doing nothing, but if it is involved it's only a tertiary role.diffuser wrote: ↑04 Jun 2026, 21:05Aston Martin is the manufacturer and co-owner of the racing program. I just read "Valkyrie AMR Pro was originally designed and developed to meet the LMH hypercar regulations and now Aston Martin Performance Technologies, situated in the newly-built AMR Technology Campus which is co-located with the Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One® team’s Silverstone headquarters, has begun the task of developing a competition prototype version of Valkyrie for racing within a pre-defined aerodynamic and power performance window that gives it parity with its direct competition in WEC. It will then be homologated for the WEC Hypercar and IMSA GTP classes ahead of the 2025 season." on https://www.astonmartin.com/en-us/our-w ... 0task%20ofSealTheRealDeal wrote: ↑04 Jun 2026, 22:04The Valkyrie LMH is funded primarily by billionaire Gabe Newell[1] and designed and built primarily by Multimatic[2] with some technical assistance from AMR.[3] I haven't seen anything confirming AMPT's involvement. [1] the owner of Steam and THOR
[2] which also manufactures the track only Valkyrie AMR Pro that the LMH is based on
[3]which is a distinct corporate entity from AML and AMF1/Racing Point, and which is actually still operated by Prodrive, not sure if Stroll owns AMR and is simply contracting Prodrive or if Prodrive kept that part of the business when they sold the road car company to Stroll
