Pretty quite here. I only today updated the rules. There is nothing that relevant in there. Just keep in mind, that I would like to now post the scrutineering results as quickly as possible. This means that appealing any findings will not be possible for delayed entries anymore.
The new MFlow version has quite some updates. Now, the minor bugs, I detected when running on cloudHPC have been wiped out. Also, we now have the correct turbulence model back on the wheels.
Together with cloudHPC, we will now schedule a webevent, where we will show you guys how to use MFlow on cloudHPC. I assume this will happen after the next race, but lets see, maybe we can make it faster.
I ran a test with the new version and saw 10% increases in load and drag. I’m assuming it was related to the tyre changes as everything was identical on the geometry side. More just for info than anything
That is a lot, I should run a test as well.
I did not have much time this week and will not tomorrow either. I have quite some results from the new Matteo Body but will have to share them next week.
Just now, I checked my test of the car with the correct turbulence wall function on the wheels compared to the one we used the first races. My numbers match up so well, that I even wonder if I am running the same simulation twice (the boundary conditions in the 0
folder are different, so I am not sure).
Can anyone else confirm that the wall model on the wheels affects the results this much?
