But please don't ask questions like "if Zak Brown was wearing red Shoes, and we qualified 3rd, but then he was wearing green shoes and qualified 10th, should he never wear green shoes again?"

Doesn't it just! There's certaiunly some living proof of that round here.

It's just a shame because this place has got better over the last 4 weeks. People with a lot more knowledge are having patience to come back and discuss ideas and add to technical discussions, the thread is becoming a bit more technical again (Even if we are amateurs compared to the car thread!) and you can go into more detail without the usual lot getting impatient with things that don't concern them because they decide their interest trumps anyone else's on the forum and they don't have the ability to pass buy the bits that don't interest them, or their only addition is to try and moderate where it isn't welcome.

What I want to know is why Leclerc didn’t get a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct when he clearly held everyone up going into the pits

the FIA should have to explain that one

YEP! I was expecting a penalty for Leclerc. As for Hamilton passing Perez off track too.
To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone. ― Bruce McLaren

Epic job by the team in Singapore! Outstanding result for Lando and amazing drive by Oscar. McLaren got the strategy for both drivers perfect which was nice to see.

It was allowed in 2021 Saudi Arabia as well. The stewarding is not consistent. It's a longstanding problem in every area.

Not exactly, but he was like 2 seconds behind Sainz when the SC was declared, and was still coming down the pit lane long after (in F1 terms) Sainz had changed his tyres and left the pit box, so that gap had increased by something like 4 or 5 seconds to maybe 6-7 seconds

EDIT - after a quick re-watch, the gap went from 5 seconds when the SC was called, to 9 seconds

It is hard however everytime I see a questionable penalty. I want to see at some point an even playing field.

In an attempt to move things on: what are peoples expectations for Suzuka? I for one am expecting a strong weekend competing with both cars for the podium given the car's high speed strengths and the fact that the full Singapore update will be available for both cars. Do others share my optimism or am I being a touch misguided?

It is interesting that the teams' simulations show McLaren in third place behind RBR and Ferrari. I would be surprised if we did not do better than that...
(I mean at Suzuka)
