Disturbed Friday practice, and a sprint on top of that. Well at least they can use the Sprint data and change their race setups after.

It looks like no rain during the sessions. Accuweather is mostly right. This is Friday:

Sadly not how it works. No single weather model is so special when it comes to forecasting localized rain chances several days ahead of time.

I use Accuweather myself every day and it's certainly not at all especially accurate when it comes to this stuff. Even their radar functionality, which is one of the reasons I use them over other weather apps, seems to have gotten LESS reliable with newer iterations.

Is anything known about the resurfacing? When was it finished and was it treated? I fear it might be a Turkey 2.0 with no grip at all...
Turkey 2020 was a great race.

Yip... Turkey is a great track...

Tyre allocation: 12 sets (2 Hard, 4 Medium and 6 Soft)

Two qualifying sessions with only 6 sets of softs. Interesting.

new mediums are mandatory for SQ1 and SQ2, same as last year. One set of softs for SQ3

17 apr 2024 F1 Beyond The Grid Podcast
20 years since his infatuation with Formula 1 began at China’s first race in 2004, Zhou Guanyu will race in front of his home fans
for the first time as an F1 driver at the Chinese Grand Prix.

Zhou tells Tom Clarkson what racing in Shanghai will look like through his eyes; from his helmet design and sold-out grandstand,
to the reaction he’s expecting on his first lap of the track and what it would mean to score his first points of the season in the city
he was born in.

The Sauber driver also talks about what impact his success has had on motorsport culture in China, his crash at Silverstone in 2022,
the documentary being made about his journey to F1, his passion for fashion, uncertainty over his future in the sport with no seat confirmed for 2025 yet, and much more.

If LeClerc fails to outgun Sainz here, his confidence will take a major beating.
In qualy?

They've been evenly matched in race trim so far.

Pirelli releases those on race day, so we only have the one from 2019:

and how it unfolded back then:

You would think the C3 is going to take a real beating around here?

Is this a 2 stopper - M-H-H do we think?

I wonder if Ferraris tyre whispering so far might enable them to have a couple of mediums and run well on them- a bit like Malaysia 2015 was it?

In both. This is a highly technical track, where I expect LeClerc, Verstappen and Hamilton to settle into the 'most optimal racing lines' for tyre-wear and laptime ; compared to other drivers. If Sainz still does better than LeClerc here (quali and race) then LeClerc as a driver is finished at Ferrari.
