Piola says that Newey prefers AMR to Ferrari

As for upgrades I expect them at Imola
I want this to happen just for the meltdown tifosi will undergo.
Rolling. As expected you want to see Ferrari cry!
Unlikely to be a meltdown, it would be no different than it is today. For sure people will be sad but nobody has yet taken for granted his choice.

If anything in the Ferrari thread there has been talk about how the technical team seems strong already and they would only want AN.

you do know that newey personally designed the redbull suspension for these regs dont you? likely because he knew that it was going to be extremely important with the ground effect rules/ porpoising etc... aston should be doing everything they can to get him. if there is anything like a silver bullet in F1, he would be it. people can downplay his worth all they want, but whoever gets him will probably be winning when they get him, as long their 2026 PU is up to snuff. mercedes huge engine advantage from 2014 is the only reason they were able to win so much in the previous regs. once redbull got an equal engine, it was just a matter of time. if neweys head is in it, his team will be at or near the top. id put my money on it
I have no idea what he designed but he's primarily known as a aerodynamacist. They don't usually design suspensions. Maybe have input of the placement and shape of exposed suspension parts is more likely.

Remember he's a top level Guy and there is probably a Suspension designers team at RBR racing. He can over see that if he wants but they are probably 2 layers below him (something like Newey -> TP -> Suspension Head -> Designers team).
https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/red- ... y-secrets/

ive seen it talked about in several places but this is a short interview where he discusses designing the front and rear suspensions of the rb18 because of the importance under these regs. but he also talks about the great help he has at redbull. so of course its not all him
Thks

It seems no Newey in Aston Martin.
I hope Honda will build a super PU to fight that monstrous Ferrari

Many may not know this, but Newey always thanked Honda for the freedom they gave him regarding the chassis and engine. Something that did not happen with other PU brands.
Newey is usually very picky about packaging. (the president of Honda recently spoke about this).
I think that working with Honda again is a plus.

Basically will get thrown out as there is unlikely to be any 'new' evidence that wasn't there at the time.

Stewards throwing it out because they know they made some shocking decisions and don't want to look incompetent.

They wouldn't be appealing if they didn't.

After the previous penalty , the incident with Russell, they said they didn't appeal cause they had no new evidence. so if they are appealing this time, it cause they have new evidence.

We've seen it before though. Stewards throwing it out because they dont consider it as new evidence.

IMHO, was a silly and harsh penalty. Especially the grid drop for the next race

Nothing shocking happened in that decision.

This is a car, behind on the inside, understeering into a car on the outside. It's a penalty any day of the week.

They maybe want to discuss the penalty points on the license, but there's no way whatsoever that this will be overturned.

Maybe they have proof that his tire had already had lost some pressure and resulted in him going wide... in other words , the puncture occurred before the incident.

Oh my, that’s simply your favorite or your only topic to talk about? Guess we all know your thoughts about it. But please, keep going on. Interestingly though in the Race channel on youtube they talked about how the modified or are going to modify penalties for exact those situations and came to the conclusion, that exactly such a situation wouldn’t be deemed as penalisable.
