Or maybe Sainz just gets on with it without complaining where everyone can hear it as an excuse and leaves it for private discussion.
This is getting a little silly. Now Leclerc isn't allowed to tell the team about the issues he's having? It doesn't matter if his teammate is or isn't having the same issues, he's allowed to tell the team what he feels is limiting him...

There's so much to discuss about the car, team, and track, but everyone is fixating on a 0.030 gap between the drivers instead #-o I'm pretty sure every person involved in this discussion agrees Sainz did better, so I don't even understand what you guys are debating.
Leclerc is allowed to say whatever he likes to the team. I never criticized Leclerc. The problem is how people then post pages of it here so quickly before the session even ended...and don't see how they are overshadowing the performance of Sainz with what are at best, driver excuses. Imo many do simply think it's never that Sainz is quick. It's just that Charles would have been quicker if his tires were warm...We don't even know that Sainz's tires were warm...Maybe he just got on with it.... Even Lando Norris said the track is tricky because the tires are cool at the beginning of the lap. It was probably the same for everyone.
So now praise for Sainz for dealing with the cold tyres better = excuses for Leclerc. Come off of it mate and go back into the RBR thread. You only come here to talk about Charles and how he is washed.

@dialtone @soulpancake13 Let's not forget this forum is for everyone to share their opinions, last I checked, this forum doesn’t have any rule that Red Bull fans can’t talk about Ferrari. It’s open to everyone, so maybe focus on the points being made instead of who’s making them.
The cheapest sort of pride is national pride, every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud adopts, as a last resource, pride in the nation to which he belongs; thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.

Why is the Ferrari team thread the only one that turns into a cesspool after quali/race session with fans of other teams coming in to rain their opinion while all the other ones stay relatively clean?

Pretty anonymous quali for Ferrari overall, in the end they are about where they thought they were.
It will be over very soon…
Maybe due to the end of the season. Everyone's eyes will be on Ferrari even more than usual next year.

Hoping Ferrari's tire management makes a difference tomorrow vs Mercedes. Just don't see anyone touching McLaren this weekend.
They encountered a lot of graining on the mediums. Not sure how much that can be improved going into the sprint but let's hope for the best.

Except you get reported by doing what's happening here in other team threads.

I would normally agree but in this case the conversation is just going in circles, with one user repeatedly saying they weren't making excuses for Leclerc, and the other user saying they're doing so. At this point it does not feel like the conversation is being done in good faith.

Either way I think the entire topic should be dropped because again... a 0.030 gap is not Ferrari's biggest worry right now...

Though I will say, after re-watching Qatar 2023, it's amazing how much has been improved in just one season.

Well Checo is nowhere for 90% of every season in Red Bull and the other guy's fanbase doesn't have any other relevant measurement to make. It's only natural to look for it elsewhere

The engineering work is nothing short of incredible. A few more degrees higher and Ferrari are fighting for pole. 2025 is a great opportunity to finally deliver the champions we have been waiting for!

Re: 2024 Scuderia Ferrari F1 Team

In the middle of this topic's drama, I just realized I forgot to post the post-qualifying interviews like I normally do. Sorry about that.

Leclerc

I don’t know why the free practice session went so much better than expected, whereas in qualifying, we were in line with our predictions. So, we’re back to reality.

After free practice, we were hopeful we could do better, but we didn’t manage it. If we look at free practice, we think we can fight for the win; if we look at qualifying, we can’t. For now, the most representative session is qualifying, so we’re not in the best position, but you never know. Every time, it’s different when the race comes around.
Sainz

I never try to read too much into FP1, because you never know the fuel loads and engine modes others are running. The good news is [in FP1] the car felt better in terms of balance than expected, and the timesheets reflected that.

But going into qualifying, we were still worried that our rivals could be quick here, and that’s what we saw. I don’t think we maximized our package. Even though the lap was clean, there was a lot of understeer in the car, and we basically couldn't turn for the whole lap.

It was also a tough lap because it was my only chance to set a time, so I couldn’t take too many risks with track limits. Since I missed the previous lap, I had to make sure I got one in. I think we have a lot of potential to improve the car tomorrow, especially on the soft tire.
Vasseur

We had a much better car in free practice this afternoon, but we suffered a lot of understeer in qualifying, which cost us a lot of time. If we want to be positive, we can say that many points will be awarded on Sunday. We need to react and be ready for tomorrow afternoon’s qualifying and have a good car on Sunday. But it’s true we were in much better condition during free practice.

When the grip improves, the understeer issue gets worse. I think there was a huge difference in grip between the afternoon and the evening.

The Sprint will be in the afternoon, so we should be less affected than in qualifying. Then, in qualifying, we can adjust the setup. The race? Nobody has done a race simulation, so we can’t predict whether there will be tire graining or not.
Additionally, dropping this comparison between Ferrari and the McLarens here.

It's fair to point out that AR3-GP's contributions to this thread never rise above the level of trolling.

I have a sense that this might be a bit similar to Austin. A lot of high speed and therefore possibly tyre deg. Ferrari also couldn’t quite compete in qualifying there (while Russell could). Might be a similar case here.

Ferrari has been unable to compete in qualifying almost all season, but everyone is as surprised every time as the first)

Sainz was instructed to not put Charles under pressure. And he didn't put Charles under pressure

If Charles fans assume that means do not pass, sorry, but you're wrong. Wording matters

The defense of this is honestly just getting laughable at this point.

Real "You said not to take a cookie from the jar, but it's not technically a jar!" energy right here. smh
Pretty disgusting Ad-Hominem falacy Seanspeed, no real arguments, just attack the person #-o

The irony is that it's the Sainz haters who seem to think that Sainz is incapable of understanding simple instructions.
I corrected that for you

Sainz was instructed to not put Charles under pressure. And he didn't put Charles under pressure

If Charles fans assume that means do not pass, sorry, but you're wrong. Wording matters

If they tried to say do not pass, that's a mistake... by the team

But Sainz haters and/or Charles fans, will assume any instruction must be read from Charles pov, they don't care about Sainz, or even Ferrari, only Charles results matters #-o

Every single time Sainz beats Charles, the forum get derailed with "Sainz is not a team player" BS
Have you had a chance to read what Leo Turrini, a very well known Ferarri insider, had to say about that on his blog?

Ferrari insider? No, he´s just an italian journalist. And he actually say nothing of interest. They prefer Hamilton so they should see something on Sainz they don´t like. Yeah sure, they´ve seen 7xWDC vs 0. They´d have seen the same with the rest of the grid, what a reasoning #-o

Yes, he's an insider, considering that he's from Sassuolo (a lot of Ferrari guys live here) and always near Maranello/Fiorano. I'm from the same place as him and I can assure that he knows a lot of internal dynamics of Scuderia Ferrari. Also, he's always at Ristorante Montana (do your own research to find out why this is an important detail) and talks with a lot of personalities at Ferrari.
Not everyting he says is always true, but he knows A LOT.
