Mercedes W11 Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Hand on heart I believe 2020 will be complete domination by the W11, something like we saw at the start of this hybrid era.
Lovely! I don't like stress. Been through too much in the Lewis McLaren days! More of the same please!!
If you thought that that was stress, you don't know, what that is.

Perhaps I cannot get it, because I am not a drivers fan. But why was that stress? He, most of the time, had a very good car, good fights and has won very often. Must be good for a fan. I cannot imagine it but that cannot be too much stress. Seeing someone win in a superior car is no stress at all, as i could imagine but is that fun?

(remember this was about a coming car that should be superior according to a user)

the car was often good but the team was often terrible. They threw away the 2007 wdc in China and again in Brazil, they nearly did it again in 2008, in 2010 they took away Phil Prew and gave him a newbie RE from the simulator, had Sam Michael messing up his pitstops and Martin Whitmarsh falling head over heels in love with his teammate! Ron thought he ought to be grateful, right to the end.

Mercedes is night and day different: he's appreciated, has input and a team that all works together, so he has every reason to think the W11 will be a great car even if the others have closed the gap, and also it'll be operated well. It's a great big mutual appreciation society, so even on weekends when it doesn't go well you still think, as a fan, everyone's at least done their best

Don't know how to link to Facebook, but AMG F1 just posted a picture of the star at the front of the W11, but this time it's dark grey, not silver as usual. Perhaps a darker livery this time

High sidepods, wide nose. These two changes would already mean a rather big change, not just an evolution. If changing the sidepod concept towards the Ferrari one is not a concept change (and therefore more than an evolution), I don't know what else is.

If its a nose, it would be the noseiest nose of all time!

I do not think it is the nose, its too humongous to be a nose.

Hard to tell to be honest because the cars are so big these days. His hands look quite large compared to side of the nose overall.

I agree, the nose looks pretty similar to last years.
