"And Hamilton crosses the line to grab pole, with nobody in second or third."
Why are you mentioning Lewis, he doesn't even want to be there and has left along with Seb and Kimi #-o
Is this true? So Hamilton has done one and left the likes of Bottas and Verstappen to race?

So, if it goes ahead does it count as an official race with points awarded?

Why is Formula 1 the only sport in the world that can't write functional contracts, negotiate through challenges, and be responsible for itself?
Too many vested interests with hands outstretched for cash. Too many chiefs - there are several top people involved from the FIA, Liberty, the track etc., and they all want their own bit of the action.

F1 needs a single person in charge who makes these sorts of decision. Sadly they're still running the system that Max and Bernie devised to line their own pockets with.

Until it’s officially from a team then I don’t believe any driver has gone home.

It appears that the teams have decided to not race, except for the RedBull teams who are just thinking they're going to get a big pile of free points on the way to making Max the youngest F1 champion. That's all they're thinking about.

So Hamilton hasn't "done one". The team have "done one" and so Bottas won't race either.

It's like this, the damage will have been done so they might as well carry on now. It will then be a case of who's got the best immune system as well as the fastest driver.

I agree with you, though it does sound like there is no Mercedes, Ferrari, or Renault (at a minimum) at the race track.

It will be somewhat ironic if “the drinks company” are the only ones who want to race and all the ‘proper’ racing teams don’t.

Not really, it shows that they don't care about their staff though

Again, this makes zero sense. Unless someone can offer a decent explanation I can't believe the teams would show up only to then not participate. Essentially took full risk exposure without taking any benefit. Let's wait until there's actual official words coming from the teams.
