Surely they’ll have to revert that penalty? No way that was a 5s when Hamilton was into that corner with full lock the entire corner?!
It's such a rubbish penalty it's not even funny. They could have at least thought about how that corner is entirely downhill and would force cars to go to the outside naturally.
just couple laps later there was exactly the same thing with Lec and Nor, and somehow they didn't colide... but the 6 time WC couldn't back out and not run into the car that was clearly in front on the outside?

I mean - Ver "made" the overtake on the outside near impossible with some help from the stewards, with the running people out of road on exit, this race we finally have drivers brave enough to take that chance and you still defend the inside guy who clearly ran into the outside one?

I think Albon did not need to take the risks and could have won the race with standard and easy overtakes.

Both Mercedes damaged and on old hard tyres. Redbull should have been telling Albon to take his time and it was a win.

A driver of Hamiltons level should have anticipated that and leave Albon space.

He did. They made contact before albon reached the edge of the track. Besides, as Verstappen showed last year, if you are on the inside, the corner is yours, right?
If you are ahead. Verstappen was ahead, and so was albon.
Albon wasn't ahead going into the corner. And Verstappen only made it to level.

He had lock applied all the way, never unwound the lock. So how is he supposed to give space? If you go around the outside, you put yourself in danger at the exit.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

There will be war at Mercedes now, I get the distinct feeling Bottas was intentionally trying to slow Lews down the last 2 or 3 laps.

Mercedes build great cars but man they're sloppy on strategy, not pitting under SC then not letting Lewis past for the clean air to gap Lano and LcClerc.

Did you consider for a second that Albon was on better tires and might have needed to consider that his grip was superior, hence not turn into him and also leave space?
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Which was exactly the smart move.

For a team that’s been pleading for the drivers to protect the cars for an easy 1-2. Are you sure????
