I have some sympathy for Tilke, he takes a lot of abuse for factors that are out of his control. The budget, land available and for a street track like Sochi and Singapore the streets available and buildings are out of his control. FOM and the FIA often stick their oar in. Usually his brief is to produce a multi-use venue suitable for F1 but also Moto, testing and corporate events which pretty much precludes the sort of jeopardy people want to see.
COTA, Instanbul, Bahrain, Malaysia, India are good tracks for modern cars. Hanoi looked interesting, itโs a shame weโll never see it in action.
Yes, especially when we look at Moto they will love this track.
For F1 I do not see it like you....Spore is one of the best tracks in the calendar. Except for Ferrari rocket ships in front there is always good overtaking and action.
The issue here is again this many tire murdering long swipes. One is ok, like in Silverstone or COTA...but here? Everything between turn 3 and 12 (except 5 and 11 of course) will simply just kill the tires and make following impossible. I fear this will be quite similar to Sochi especially if it has similar tarmac.
