Monza is a monster ,with that braking from very high speeds you have to be veryy precise. The chicanes are tricky as well and it´s very easy to overdo it with agressiveness (leading to damage).
It´s a bit like the old Hockenheim circuit ,very easy to dimiss but some drivers excell on those tracks.

Maybe we'll have annother surprise Qualifying Session with Both of the Red Bulls Out in Q1.. I'd say the best possible result for them is P4/5
McLaren should win this one , my bets are with Hamilton for Pole he has never won there and I think It's time for him to do it

The way I see it, if D'Ambrosio finishes in the top 5, he'll get a drive next year. If it's a podium, Ferrari knows who to replace Massa with.

God I hope that happens. That would be such a relief.

It would be great for D'Ambrosio, but Grosjean is backed up big time by Total (who pushed to have a french driver in the team for a couple of years now) and I don't think that Boullier has the balls to change Grosjean against Total's will.
Tough position D'Ambrosio is then. They will not let Grosjean go for the sponsorship, but neither will let they Kimi go, who basicilly has been performing very well. The only thing D'Ambrosio can hope for is that he performs very well and an other team (which can score points) will pick him up
I think you guys are expecting too much from a rookie who he got less than a week to prepare for his first race.

I think getting into Q3 and finishing in points will be a good achievement for rookie.

I agree with CHT. Keep in mind he's only driven the car once. Also, realize there wouldn't have been time for him to do any monza simulator work. He'll be going in pretty much cold on Friday.

A podium for him is, frankly, ludicrous. He'll be working his absolute arse off for 10th.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Sauber yet in this thread. They've been looking good in fast sectors all year, not to mention their mammoth Spa effort. I expect them to be fighting for a podium.

The points, in my oppinion, will look like this (no order implied):
Both macs, both saubers, kimi, Maldonado, Alonso, one of the red bulls, and two wild cards.

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Theoretically you could. But why? If you use KERS at the end of the straight (into 7th gear) then it only helps you for that last bit of the straight when you're in 7th. If you deploy it off the corner then have it help you all the way down. If you're keen on having KERS offset a tall gear acceleration, then have a tall 3rd gear - then cover that with KERS.

Considering D'Ambrosio's position that will never happen. Only Senna would be able to get the Lotus on the podium with that little experience and even then Senna would probably barely be able to do it.

d'Ambrosio does know this track well as he raced in Italian Formula Renault; in his 3 years in GP2, it was always one of his better tracks, managing a 2nd place in 2010. I think it's dangerous to write him off
