He's staying in rallying, buddy. Sorry.
I'm afraid this is just a rehash of what he's been saying for weeks. There is nothing new in there that says he's staying in rallying, or even staying with Citroen, in that article. The Rally of Finland has ended and there is still no news or a firm signature. I doubt whether there will be anything signed until just before the start of the new rally season next year.

I assuming Rally's Silly Season is nothing like F1.

If I were MercedesGP, I'd do my best to reel him in for the next season.

But if I were Kimi Raikkonen, I'm not sure I'd want to race for Mercedes.

I hope that's a bottle of vinegrette or olive oil for his salad before he goes racing after his lunch break.

...and this is why Kimi likes his time in rallying. It's the race case of "me rollin (literally), they likin"

Autosport.com wrote: Red Bull is disappointed with the publicity and results from Kimi Raikkonen's maiden World Rally Championship programme, according to driver consultant Helmut Marko. Despite Raikkonen taking his maiden rally win last weekend -- a Rally of France warm-up, the Rallye Vosges -- Marko is said to be unimpressed by the number of accidents Raikkonen has had.

The 2007 F1 world champion has suffered a significant number of off-stage excursions this season, but he and his team principal Benoit Nogier are upbeat about the Finn's increased speed.

Marko said: "The publicity [from Raikkonen] is not what we expect. It is connected with the accidents and the results missing. The Raikkonen project functions only with victories."

Raikkonen's WRC future has yet to be decided. He has not received an offer from Red Bull, but he has been tipped for a move to the Monster Ford Team for 2011.
Yikes! That seems a little harsh for his first year, especially when everyone knows he's got the talent. I thought a reasonable goal would be to beat Ken Block, the other rookie in good equipment, but it seems they thought Raikkonen would be challenging Loeb and Ogier for wins?

I don't know how much more ignorant Marko can get. You need years of experience in rally before you do anything. Did he really think Raikkonen was going to turn up and win? That's just insane, but considering how the Red Bull driver programme has been an utter failure I can see why Marko might be making a few of these idiotic, off-the-cuff remarks. Raikkonen has certainly attracted more than a few viewers this season.

I remember some driver from Scotland crashing his cars quite often at the beginning of his WRC career.

Kimi is already taking the fight to the people being in WRC for some time, like young Wilson, Ostberg, Henning Solberg, Villagra, Al Qassimi... not a bad for, say it clearly, rookie.
