Perhaps it is the time to do this now.Gary wrote: Get the big name and I'll roll over and reveal the obscure one in the interest of speed and not being told off by xpensive!
Small point of order. It can be asserted that Enzo was 48 when Formula One commenced. That said, there is some debate on this point. The CSI (Commission Sportive Internationale) first laid out the premier formula - 4.5 litres unsupercharged or 1.5 litres supercharged - in 1946. At that time it was described as Formula A. It was not long before the motoring press across Europe began to refer to it as Formula One and long before the CSI World Drivers' Championship started in 1950, the category was universally known as Formula One.WhiteBlue wrote:In an F1 race?xpensive wrote:I wonder if Enzo Ferrari didn't drive his own car once or twice?
Btw, he was aged 52 when F1 started.

His real name was actually Gianclaudio Giuseppe Regazzoni, but ok.Gary wrote:Gianclaudio Regazzoni, Grand Prix of Italy, Monza Park 6 September 1970, driving a Ferrari 312B.
What's with the warnings all the time? Show me a question I've put up that was not about F1. You a school teacher or something?xpensive wrote:His real name was actually Gianclaudio Giuseppe Regazzoni, but ok.Gary wrote:Gianclaudio Regazzoni, Grand Prix of Italy, Monza Park 6 September 1970, driving a Ferrari 312B.
Your go Gary, but this better be good, stick to F1 and no obscure pre-war Czech contraption!
