An acronym of the founders names. Its four founders were Max Mosley, Alan Rees, Graham Coaker and Robin Herd.

Isn't this the golden age driver who came back in the 50s to drive for Mercedes in F1 without much success, Rosemeyer?

Nope, Rosemeyer died 1938 at a land speed record attempt on the autobahn.
