He isn't Steve Jobs, let's keep the conspiracy theories to a minimum. ;)

Regarding the rear wing fences: every team has a slightly different philosophy. Just compare the gurney flaps on the Merc and e.g. the F2012. It's not a case of "see something that others are using -> but it on the car", it just doesn't work that way.

I still think the W03 is a dog, Merc is adding a lot of resources and the results is getting worse each year.

China victory was really a one off, with the unprdictability this year and nature of circuit made it happend. I think Brawn could well be quitting, anyhow something needs to happend.

Yes, but look the other teams guy... And look the pace on qualy, if we aren't the fastest team on saturday like the first four races, imagine tomorrow how will be the race. Montmeló is the most representative track of the year, if we aren't good here, we will not be good in the rest of the circuits.

No it isn't: the unpredictability of the tyres will vary each race.

Forget this argument. The unpredictability of the tyres will disappear during the next races.

Quite laughable how you come to this conclusion. The car is far more competitive than either W01 or W02. You excuse their victory as a one off, conveniently bypassing their quali performances.
If anything, Mercedes have been unlucky particularly Schumacher.

This "dog" has 1 pole and a victory in 4 races. I suggest you re-calibrate your view if you want to be taken seriously.

Both cars into top 10. Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari cannot say the same.
Honestly, your doomsayer posts are tiresome in extremis.

Well if you make a comparison 2010->2012 the first four races it´s hard to spot the progress. Actually for me the beginning of 2010 is still the peak for the team.

2010
5,5,3,3 --- 50 points
6,10,R,10 --- 10 points
Total 60 points

2011
R,12,5,5,7 --- 26 points
R,9,8,12,6 --- 14 points
Total 30 points

2012
12,13,1,5 --- 35 points
R,10,R,10 --- 2 points
total 37 points

The China victory was really a neccessery (and surprise to me and also think for the team) because otherwise they would be in a really bad shape, so they catched a break there. China=long straights and a layout not stressing the tires too much, add to that cool tempratures and it was ideal for the Merc, won´t happend again this year.

I´m frustrated to see that they can not come to terms with the problem of destroying the tires/full tank issues. For at least 2 years after every test/race they say "we have learnt a lot bla bla" but obviously not. This years car seems to have some fundamental speed but it´s worth nothing coming to the race. Should they "loose" that speed over one lap and qualify worse and still not solve the tyre/full tank issues then they are in really deep sh*t.

Are you seriously going to look at the stats without taking the contexts of each race into account?

Looking blindly at stats doesn't support your argument, it only weakens it.

Yes i´m serious, because you can see a pattern, i still predict that Merc will not be able to hold on to 4th in the constructors and too me that is not progress but a decline.

If you look att constructors points and the trend 2010-2011 you see:

RB 498,650 +30,5%
Mcl 454,497 +9,5%
Ferr 396,375 -5,3%
Merc 214,196 -8,4%

Merc was already on a decline together with Ferrari and this year the competition have gotten stronger.

Please, give up posting. TAKE CONTEXT IN FACT FFS!

Remind me, how many race weekends has Schumacher had a --- up? China would have been 1-2 etc etc etc etc etc.

Fact is, Merc is not in any trouble. In fact they are in a great position tomorrow.

And you forget the facts once again. You are pulling figures to match your statements.
The reality of 2010's good start was misfortune to other teams unreliability. Red Bull for example.

So the fact they finished higher up masked the intrinsic flaw of the W01. The difference in performance of the W01 compared to the front runners, compared to the W03 and its competitors is night and day.
If you cannot see that, then I suggest you watch re runs of F1 2010, and THEN post again.
More could have been done.

Well i don´t agree, facts to me is the figures not the circumstances. The W03 may be closer to the front with light fuel/fresh tires but unfortunatly a race is done over multiple laps and i think they are worse in the race (compared to the opposition) then previous years which will make it hard to gather points.

There might be certain circumstances that makes the stats look like they do but doesn´t matter, in the end of the year it´s figures that counts (points).

Anyhow i have made my point, i´m probably wrong, time will tell.

Something is going on, that much is obvious.
