Alonso long run with prime was almost as fast Vettel on option, it's scary.

Ferrari doing long run with an almost empty tank ?

It looks like Ferrari once again have a good mechanical design with lots of traction. It's the aero where they fall down. On slow and fast tracks they should be resonably fast but they fail at the average track that requires downforce at medium speed.
Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best .............................. organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)

Isn´t it interesting that RedBull suddenly has not the upper hand when there is a lack of quick corners? Expect them to be right up against the wall in Canada as well..We are out for an interesting weekend .
Renault is a disappointment neither Petrov nor Heidfeld are 2 seconds off the pace, are they? They were xpecting to battle for the win ..hm

HRT is going to struggle to make the cut ...

I'm beginning to like Renault's Twitter-guy :)
Vitaly was 11th fastest after 35 laps with 1:17.337. Vitaly completed the front wing / Armco interaction evaluation test late in the session

Once again, I wasn't expecting anything spectacular from Renault this year at Monaco. First of all, R31 is longer than R30 and not as fast in slow corners as its predecessor used to be. Secondly they don't have their street circuit expert over the wheel this year.

Oh and nice one for that twitter guy ;)

But the Ferrari and Mclaren are long wheelbase... so that is not why.

He's the one who compared Heidfeld's burnt car to a second hand Traffic van.

button's red light was Kers failure , he hadn't seen that before which says something for the reliability of the McLaren system/packaging

ferrari looks quick , but don't expect the same tyre life as McL and RB from what I saw

and in answer to the query about 1st practise tyres , they get one set of prime to be handed back at end of session ; if pirelli produce test tyres they get a set of those as well ....but none here ; 2nd session , one set prime, one set option ...also to be handed back
to the optimist a glass is half full ; to the pessimist a glass is half empty ; to the F1 engineer the glass is twice as big as it needs to be

Ferrari have a really short wheelbase, in fact, it's the shorter wheelbase of the field right behind Mercedes.

Contrasting radio discussion--
Webber to Red Bull: Where did the big red light on the steering wheel go?
Reply from RB pits: Sorry, KERS still doesn't work, the little warning light bulb simply reached the end of its life and burned out.

I am confused over the DRS situation over the tunnel section. are they not allowed to use DRS during the race in the tunnel? or are they not allowed to use it in the tunnel at all times?

Petrov's crash:

Was his rear wing opened?

ps. anyone got a video of Button's radio?
