This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
I think that the DDRS is overdiscussed and overrated since it has not given them a clear advantage yet, as many of us belived and I think that for other teams it wouldn't be a good investment unless they find a way to do a better version of it.

not worth commenting this crap...Schumi was not u´nfallable ever and other top drivers got it wrong as well with similar effect and nobody asked for their retírement.

please dont infuse sense into Schumy topics/threads
Coz everyone just likes to crusify THE MOST SUCESSFUL DRIVER OF ALL TIME!!
must have hurt all those years, when Schumy schooled and ended some of their favorite driver's/drivers' career
Come now, MS is actually 43 years old, which should be way past best before date in any sport but perhaps golf, snooker or dart, Mario Andretti was 42 when he did his last race but that was 30 years ago, a different age.
To xpect MS to keep up with his more than 16 years younger team-mate is absurd, no matter how romantic it might seem.

Perhaps the qualifying advantage was down to the actual pace of the car. They don't have to worry about looking after the tires, they have one lap and push hard. In the race they dial back the pace to extract the best over all race time because that's how the car treats the tires.
my theory:
the tyre has low ultimate grip level and does only work really well for one lap
As the cars are limited by the tyre in their performance over a single lap all who have a clue come up with a similar lap time.
In the race you will need a car that is using the tyres on all four corners evenly distributed not just for one lap but also over a stint. You have to nurse the tires more if you have an imbalance of tyre exploitation front rear and this will of course account for quicker wear or deg .Having to nurse will explain the sudden big drops in performance when on race stints.
I do have a gripe about the Senna/Schumacher incident.
Schumacher is better than he is currently showing this year. We saw this at Belgium last year.
My only issue with him is that he is perhaps trying too hard. I have a sizeable amount of cash on him to win this year, and he has a knack of putting in blitzkreig performances after a rubbish weekend. So maybe he bangs the Benz on pole or the front row, in the next couple of races and gets onto the podium. Maybe.
But it doesnt excuse the error he made with Senna. That was his fault entirely.
It will all be forgotten if he puts the merc onto the podium, and this year more than ever it is possible.
Anyone else hear the story of Ecclestone apparently confirming Mercedes until 2020?
It's a "formality" according to the little man....
Something else to consider, Benson quoted ONE word, which is a bit shady when it comes to journalism, because it removes all context. Benson then goes further to add his own context saying the word "mediocre" was mentioned in relation to Schumacher's contract.
For all we know, the quote was something like, "Yes, Michael has only acquired a mediocre amount of points this season due to bad luck, an issue in the pits, and an accident of his own design. We need to make sure avoidable incidents like China don't happen again on our end, or he could leave us at the end of the season when his contract is up."
Benson makes the BBC look like a biassed personal blog.
I enjoy reading Benson. I would ask anyone here the question:
What would you write about Schumacher had a Mercedes insider told you of this story?
Schumacher himself would have to admit his driving was below par in Spain.
Doesnt matter how you paint it.
Even ardent fans have to realise this.
I'm not sure how much his new gearbox was worth in relation to Rosberg(using the old heavier casing). But it would have been worth something.
Everyone has a mediocre spell. No one is beyond these occurences, it would have been nice for Schumi to come clean and take the hit on the chin.
Benson is paid to wirte about his opinions. Doesnt make them factual, and I disagree with him on some parts of this story. But I wouldn't denigrate the man entirely as he is actually quite a good read.
Alas, these are all questions that are legitimately being asked of Schumacher and things like the tyre situation he enjoyed at Ferrari is now being discussed where once it wasn't. Fair or unfair it doesn't make those questions any less legitimate to ask in the current circumstances. Like it or lump it those are things being discussed in the paddock whether you believe Benson or not.
The Senna incident was an eye opener. There was no attempt to even pass. He simply followed right into the back of Senna's car. The simple arithmetic is that time has caught up with Schumi. He's there for marketing value.
However, I have a funny feeling that both Rosberg and Schumacher will be out of a job in the not-too-distant future. There is something up. If you think Ross Brawn is really ill then you'll believe anything.

I think the current tyres do not even on the first lap have the grip to bring even a midfield car to its limit, therefore the outside impression of technically equalized cars.
Think about it - there are no or close to none crashouts. Suddenly all drivers have become great masters. Or nobody pushes the car to the edge.
About W03 I think that, as we have been accustomed to already, there's no development. Upgrades, if any, did not work. They had some advantage in qualifying which is not to be seen anymore.
