With Heidfeld waiting in the wings there is a certain redundancy which will not go unnoticed in Monaco. So I'm looking forward to Keke's comments when the season starts. He is commentator at SKY Germany which I'm subscribed to.
Fantasic article. Absolutely no news were put in so many useless letters! I wish I could do these things.

Having been a F-1 fanatic for the past 30 years, Shumi brings back a certain excitment for me. Though I have never been a true Shumi fan, I can appreciate greatness when I see it and Rosberg is going to have his hands full. Already in the testing it is obvious. Heck shumi was making excuses for rosberg.

Exactly, I remember when Shumi came oun the scene as if it were yesterday. I remember him running a race with only 5th gears if memory serves me right. He has never been beat by any team mate. Rubens plain got the smack down and all the excuses in the world will not change that fact.

It is amazing that Schumi is turning those times for his age and having been out of F-1 for three years. Raced in SCCA for some 10 years when I was in my early 20's to early 30's and now that I am 45, I can't imagine ever doing simple club racing and being competitive again and that is I one 4 championships.

Things are looking up for Rosberg in the tests. Seems that he is more consistent than Shumi, and could be quicker as well.
What will Micheal do if it's pretty evident that Rosberg is more consitent?
Looks like the same kind of situation we had with Barichello and Button; the younger driver may not have the raw speed but he has the race pace.
Any Shumi fans feeling a little nervous?

Schumacher deliberatly talked down his chances. Rosberg also deteriorated but much more than Schumi. I think both Merc drivers are under rated. The betting public clearly isn't concerned that Rosberg has a chance to beat Schumi. Here is why:

Image

Rosbergs final race sim.

Image

Schumi's final race sim.

I think that Schumi is the much more consistent driver in race trim. Schumi has often compromised possible poles for a better race set up but he can be fast on one lap as well as being incredibly fast in race trim.

Image

Schumacher is the man with the most incredible race pace ever seen on an F1 track. He has more than four times the fastest race laps than any driver now on the grid (Barichello 17) who did more years in F1 than Michael. Remember, there are no team orders for fastest race lap, only ability counts.

Can you put race sims of Rosberg and shumi on a chart by themselves?, i'm not so much worried about the times relative to other teams, but the trends over a long stint between the 2 drivers. Looking from here (i can't see the y axis too well) Rosberg looks to be on another program, I don't think his true pace is that inconsistent. :)
I can see how Level Micheal's times are though.

I'm a Shumi fan, not so much now since he left in 2006, but I don't see a healthy gap between him and Rosberg as it is. We can see a clear difference between Button & Lewis already, even though they run at different times of the day. Both did a race sim and we see Lewis with over a second on his team mate, leaving plenty of room to cut off variables like temperature, rubberizing of the track, weather etc. that offset the difference. Fuel will be the same at some point in a race sim as well, so there is less uncertainty.
In this case it is safe to say Lewis has a slight edge.

Now with Rosberg and Shumi, I am not too sure. They seldom mention each other and give little or no complements. Nico has shown glimmers of speed more often over the month and I can get a sense he wont be a push over.

Going off of the media reports, you could swear Micheal doesn't have a teammate, the way how Nico is overlooked for the WDC. The betting odds are a good example as well.

In a way I like how he is treated as the under dog, It just ferments the can of whoop ass even more

Comparisons are difficult due to the changable weather. Rosberg had rain etc.

Still I can't see Rosberg not being given ample oppertunity to beat MS...but it will be down to his race engineer as much as him.

Unfortunately Excel picks up the blanks as zero and I don't know how to prevent that. It did not happen in the other charts.

Nevertheless it is obvious that Schumacher is much more consistent.

I see.....

Without regarding the times, Rosberg doesn't seem too comfortable, was it raining?
He looks pretty bad, the consecutive lap times are all over the place.

I guess we have to wait till Bahrain, though i must say, Shumacher times looks progressively good.

I am not completely convinced shumacher is back at full strength, but i guess his fans have faith, so we have to wait and see. I am only supporting Rosberg as the underdog; I am no fan but he was very good last year scoring in most of the races and barely missing out the podium, so i think he will do well with a winning car, maybe get 1 win this year. That is if he can defeat Shumacher with race pace and track presence.

Any video out there with Shumi and Hamilton during testing? Maybe we can see if Shumi still has it.

I've been hoping for that footage to come up as well. I read somewhere of a short duel between the two, with Schumacher leading until he finally let Hamilton through.

OT, but i'm loving kimi in third place on this chart, that's awesome, says a lot about him if you ask me...
