Aw, xpensive, I've gone all bashful now.

And not that it's worth mentioning, but I only live in Australia!

As we say where I come from, "Cymru am byth." :D

Which means "I don't really have a clue", does it? :D

Ok, the last race was the 1971 Italian GP, where Emerson Fittipaldi placed this horror of a car on 18th spot,
2.78 seconds behind Chris Amons Matra-Simca on pole.

But you were close enough to take the next one, Gary.

xpensive you're too kind. Working on the question. I'll try not to make it too hard, too easy or a question we've had 'several times'.

Regarding "Cymru am byth"... may I recommend my good friend Google. He would have told you it means "Wales For Ever" :D

This is the 1967 race, which Denny Hulme won (seen with prize) but Lorenzo Bandini died from terrible burns.

Correct xpensive. Over to you.

I remember that race. I remember the pressure poor Lorenzo felt he was under and I remember sure signs of him becoming tired late in the race.

somehow, he survived, in terrible pain, until the Wednesday after the race. Just ghastly.

I've cooked up something evil here; 1969 was the year of 4WD F1 cars, but already in 1964 there was a 4WD making its debut.

Car, driver and race please.

BRM P67

The P67 was entered for the 1964 British Grand Prix with rookie Richard Attwood driving, but after qualifying flat last BRM withdrew the car from the race.

But:

The first 4WD F1 car was the Ferguson P99 Climax, and it remains the most famous example as a result of its twin claims to fame - not only the first 4WD car, but also the last front-engined car, ever to win a Formula 1 event.

I would just like to point out that my question is still out standing as no one has correctly answered it, despite WB claiming it has been.

Note the question asks which car first USED carbon fibre. Not the first carbon fibre chassis.

Wonderful, just wonderful!

There was this crash in a Spanish GP in the mid 70s, when a carbon fibre rear wing broke, I can remember that much.
